Pierluigi
Specialized in the redevelopment, renovation and restoration of buildings, and owner of the structure, Pierluigi took care of the entire recovery work of the Tower down to the smallest details. By preserving the history that has permeated the rooms of the structure, he has allowed the authentic elements of the Tower to re-emerge, integrating them into the modernity of the services and furnishings that ensure a comfortable and relaxing stay, in the magic of the historicity of the place.
His passion for welcoming and rediscovering the Amalfi area was born a few decades ago. When struggling with his thesis in Civil Engineering, he had the honor of accompanying the architect and architectural historian of the Hosei University of Tokyo, Hidenobu Jinnai – then Magister of Civiltà Amalfitana in 2019 – and his crew, to the rediscovery of the landscape, architectural and anthropological authenticity of the Amalfi area; for the study of analogies with the Byzantine, Islamic and Japanese “water cities”.
An encounter that has continued, over time, to inspire Pierluigi’s professional journey and his vocation to restore the knowledge and treasures of the place, and which finally finds, in the Torre del Califo, the perfect corner of the Costiera to offer a timeless journey, with attention to the smallest details.
Gianluca
Manager and head of hospitality, Gianluca grew up in the footsteps of his uncle Pierluigi in the rediscovery of an area steeped in history and beauty. He has always poured his love for the Amalfi Coast and his knowledge of the place into his experiences of management and tourist hospitality in the coastal area. Engaged in economic studies, he continues to cultivate his passion for tourist hospitality, managing some accommodation facilities between Amalfi and Praiano, and accompanying his guests on pleasant journeys to rediscover the area.
